Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of cyclist Mark Loesch.

More details have been printed in the Pioneer Press. So far it sounds like a simple robbery, and the suspect in custody is claiming another yet unnamed accomplice is the one who actually delivered the blows which ended Mr. Loesch’s life.

updated info. looks like he might have been in the area to buy some marijuana. it would explain why he did not carry a wallet but had $40 on him.

The article says that he’d been to rehab after his misdemeanor possession offense. It also states that the autopsy showed no drugs. So either it was a random crime, or he was just about to relapse. That would be some nasty ‘instant karma’, and frankly, I’m not buying it. I feel very sorry for his family. Now there will be a number of people who read that and think that he was asking for trouble and got what he was looking for.
